Patricia Anne P. Correa ranked third best oral presenter in the recently concluded 2nd Faculty and Undergraduate Students Research Symposium (FUSERS 2025) held at the Fr. Roque Ruaño Engineering Conference Hall during the 118th Engineering Week, February 12, 2025, during the celebration of the Engineering Week.
Ms. Correa presented their thesis entitled "Optimization of Chitosan/Polyvinyl Alcohol/Lemongrass Powder Hydrochar Composite Beads for the Removal of Azo Dyes in Water." The study focuses on the development of an innovative composite bead system to effectively remove azo dyes from wastewater, contributing to sustainable water treatment solutions.
Her outstanding presentation tied with the Industrial Engineering Department for third place. Meanwhile, the Mechanical Engineering Department secured second place, and the Civil Engineering Department claimed the first-place award.
FUSERS 2025 provided a platform for faculty members and undergraduate students to showcase their groundbreaking research, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation within the engineering community.
